Payment terms:
Payment is simple: 50% deposit to start, balance due on delivery via Zelle, PayPal or Venmo.
NOTE: Voice Usage & AI Restrictions
At no time may any recording of my voice be reused, repurposed, sold, shared, or used to create synthetic, cloned, or AI-generated voices (including text-to-speech or speech-to-speech), except under a separate written agreement. All of my clients receive an Artificial Intelligence Rider outlining these terms, which must be reviewed and signed before work begins.
Q: What's your typical turnaround time for voiceover projects?
A: Most voiceover projects are delivered within 24-48 hours from script approval. For urgent projects, I offer same-day or rush delivery when my schedule permits.
Timeline factors include:
- Script length and complexity
- Number of revisions requested
- Whether the project requires live direction
Once you approve the quote and send payment, I'll confirm your delivery date. My professional home studio in Raleigh, NC means I can record quickly without the overhead and scheduling delays of booking commercial studio time.
Q: Do you offer revisions or pickups?
A: Yes. Understanding the difference between pickups and revisions helps ensure a smooth process.
Pickups (Talent Errors) – Always Included at No Charge:
If I make an error, I'll correct it immediately at no cost. This includes:
- Mispronunciations (when no pronunciation guide was provided)
- Missing or incorrect words
- Technical audio issues
- Performance errors (wrong tone or energy when clear direction was given)
There's no time limit on pickups...if I made a mistake, I'll fix it.
Revisions (Script or Direction Changes): Here's What's Included:
For undirected sessions (where I record based on your written direction):
- One round of performance adjustments at no charge (pacing, tone, energy changes)
- Minor script edits (up to 10% of the original script) at no charge
What's Considered a Billable Revision:
- Script changes beyond 10% of the original (billed at percentage of original fee based on extent of changes)
- Second or additional rounds of performance direction after the first revision
- Pronunciation preferences not specified in advance in writing (examples: "often" vs. "off-en," "either" vs. "eye-ther," "zero" vs. "oh")
- Major script rewrites (changes over 40% require new rate negotiation)
- Requests received beyond 30 days of original delivery (billed at original project rates)
To minimize revision needs, please provide:
- Pronunciation guides for proper names, brands, and technical terms
- Clear direction on tone and style upfront
- All script changes before I begin recording
Q: Do you allow Live-Directed Voiceover Sessions (Source-Connect, Video Conference <Zoom, Google> and Phone Patch?
A: While I often self-producer for clients, some clients like to direct the session.
For sessions where you direct me in real-time, the audio is considered final when we complete the session. During the session, we'll record all needed takes and variations to ensure you have everything you need.
If changes are needed after the session has been completed and approved, these changes will be billed as revision work at my standard rates, since the live session provides the opportunity to direct and approve the performance in real-time.
Q: What do I need to provide to get started?
A: Getting started is simple. Email me:
- Your script (Page format: 8 1/2" by 11", double spaced; 12 pt Arial font; files can be Word doc, PDF, or plain text)
- Project details: What is this for? (commercial, narration, e-learning, etc.)
- Usage information: What media will it be used on? (TV, radio, web, internal training, etc.) In which geographic regions will it air? (local, regional, national, international, etc.)
- Timeline: When do you need the finished audio?
- Reference or direction (optional): Any specific style, pacing, or tone you're looking for
I'll review your project and send you a quote within 24 hours. Once approved, I can typically deliver your finished voiceover within 24-48 hours.

Q: What is a voiceover talent?
A: A voiceover talent (also called a voice actor or voice talent) is a professional who uses their voice to communicate your message clearly, create emotion, and give your brand or project its unique sound.
Unlike simply reading words, a skilled voiceover talent brings acting ability and vocal technique to every project...whether it's a commercial, corporate training video, e-learning course, or character animation. We combine pacing, tone, and interpretation to ensure your audience connects with your message.
Why hire a professional voiceover talent instead of using an employee or AI voice?
- Credibility: A polished, professional voice builds trust with your audience
- Consistency: Professional voiceovers maintain quality across all your content
- Efficiency: I record it right the first time, saving you production time and costs
- Versatility: I adjust to your direction and deliver exactly the read you need
I've been delivering professional voiceover services for over 40 years to clients like Ford, Disney, IBM, and PBS.
Q: Where would I hear professional voiceover work?
A: If you've watched TV, listened to the radio, or taken an online course today, you've probably heard a professional voiceover talent at work. Voice actors are everywhere, giving brands, products, and characters their unique sound.
Common examples include:
- Commercials: TV, radio, and online or digital ads
- Corporate media: training videos, sales presentations, explainer videos
- Narration: documentaries, audiobooks, trade show videos
- Live & automated announcements: special events, conferences, award programs, airports, public transit, phone on-hold systems
- Entertainment: video games, animation, podcasts, game shows, virtual assistants
- E-learning & education: online courses, tutorials, educational apps
As a professional male voiceover talent specializing in commercial voiceover, corporate narration, and e-learning, I've voiced projects across all these categories for national brands and local businesses alike.
Q: How do I decide if a voiceover talent is right for my project?
A: Choosing the right voiceover talent comes down to three factors: skill, fit, and professionalism.
- Vocal skill: Does the voice sound polished, clear, and natural? Professional voiceover talent have trained to eliminate filler words, mouth clicks, and awkward pacing.
- Right fit for your project: Does their voice match your brand's personality? A warm, conversational style works well for e-learning and corporate narration. A bold, energetic delivery fits retail commercials.
- Professionalism: Do they deliver clean, broadcast-quality audio on time? Do they take direction well during remote recording sessions?
The best way to evaluate voiceover talent: Listen to their demo reels in the style you need (commercial, narration, e-learning, etc.). You can hear my demos organized by category on my website.
If the performance connects with you and sounds right for your audience, you've found your voice.
Q: What should I listen for in voiceover demos?
A: When evaluating professional voiceover talent for your project, you'll typically start by listening to voiceover demos—short audio reels (usually 60-120 seconds in MP3 or WAV format) that showcase their work across different projects. Most professionals offer demos by category, such as commercial voiceover, audiobooks, or corporate narration, so you can compare styles that match your project.
As you listen, focus on these key factors:
- Voice quality & fit: Does the talent's voice type match your brand or message? Does it sound clear, polished, and engaging?
- Performance style: Do they bring the right energy, pacing, or emotion for your script?
- Variety & flexibility: Can they shift tone and style, or do all their reads sound the same?
- Production value: Are their demos clean, professional, and ready for broadcast or digital use?
Some projects need a simple, consistent delivery. Others benefit from a versatile actor who can adjust on the fly or provide multiple character styles.
Pro tip: Don't just listen for a 'good voice.' Listen for a voice that matches your target audience and project goals. A corporate training video needs a different delivery than a high-energy car commercial.
Ultimately, a good voiceover talent is one whose performance helps your message connect with the right audience.
> Studio & Technology
Q: What's the difference between home studio and professional studio recordings?
A: The short answer: it depends on the equipment and expertise, not the location.
Many professional voiceover talents operate broadcast-quality home studios with the same equipment used in commercial facilities: industry-standard microphones (like my Neumann TLM-103), professional acoustic treatment (I record in a Studiobricks One Plus VO Edition), and remote recording tools like Source-Connect.
The difference isn't 'home studio' vs. 'commercial studio', it's professional vs. amateur. A poorly equipped commercial facility can produce worse audio than a well-designed home studio.
When evaluating voiceover talent, look for:
- Clean, consistent demos that sound broadcast-ready
- Professional recording equipment (ask about their setup)
- Source-Connect capability for remote sessions
- Client testimonials confirming quality and reliability
My home studio in Raleigh, NC delivers the same broadcast-quality voiceover you'd expect from any top commercial facility—with faster turnaround and no studio rental fees passed to you.
Q: Can you work with my production team remotely?
A: Yes. Remote recording technology allows me to work seamlessly with producers, agencies, and post-production teams anywhere in the world - delivering broadcast-quality voiceover in real time.
How remote voiceover recording works:
For most projects, I record in my professional studio and deliver finished files within 24-48 hours. You can provide direction via phone, Zoom, or email.
For projects requiring live direction or real-time studio-to-studio recording, I use Source-Connect Standard—the industry-leading tool for professional voiceover sessions.
Source-Connect allows you to:
- Record my voice directly into your DAW in real time
- Direct the performance as if I were in your studio
- Receive uncompressed, broadcast-quality audio instantly
Bottom line: No matter where you're located, working with professional voiceover talent is fast, easy, and produces the same quality as an in-person session.
