Raleigh Voice Actor Peter K. O'Connell | Professional Voiceover Talent in North Carolina

Commercial Voiceover, Narration, Character Voice Work & Live Announcing in Raleigh and the Research Triangle

While most of my voiceover clients still come from around America and around the world, I do a fair amount of voiceover work in my home regions: originally Buffalo, NY and now Raleigh, NC.

Having marked a decade now working as a voice actor in North Carolina, specifically in Raleigh and the Research Triangle Park area, I've had time to appreciate what makes this market unique.

Buffalo will always be home in many ways (#GoBills), and I'm grateful for the foundation those clients gave me. But Raleigh has opened up new opportunities I didn't anticipate.

The Research Triangle brings incredible client diversity. The region has a strong concentration of technology companies, healthcare innovators, biotech firms, universities, faith communities, and business organizations spanning local to international reach. As a voiceover artist in North Carolina, I work on commercial voiceovers one day, corporate narrations the next, and live announcing or emcee work after that. I also flex different creative muscles with character voice work. The sheer range of industries and projects needing professional voiceover services (see some voiceover client examples on the left) in Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Chapel Hill, and Wake Forest means my voice can be heard across the street or around the world—keeping the work fresh and challenging in the best possible way.

There's a thriving creative community. Raleigh and the Triangle have a strong appreciation for professional voice talent as part of the creative process. Clients here understand that the right voice shapes how their brand sounds and how their message connects. It's rewarding to work in a market where voice over is seen as integral to storytelling, not just an afterthought in production.

The collaboration tends to be highly strategic. Many Raleigh and RTP clients come to sessions with detailed creative briefs, clear brand guidelines, and a sophisticated understanding of how voice fits into their larger communication goals. The projects feel purposeful and well-planned. When clients see you as a creative partner rather than just a vendor, the work becomes more meaningful for everyone involved.

After ten years as a Raleigh voice actor, I can honestly say North Carolina has been very good to me. I've worked hard to serve businesses throughout the Triangle region well, and I'm proud to be part of this area's creative landscape. If you're working on a media project in North Carolina that could use a professional voice, feel free to reach out to your friendly (southern) neighborhood voiceover talent.
