I've been a professional, live, on-mic host at the podium (serving as an emcee, master of ceremonies, MC, compère, etc.) and as an event announcer or show announcer (an off-stage live announcer used to voice introductions and transitions on-stage) or public address announcer for every kind of event imaginable since the early 80's (that's the 1980's not the 1880's).
